Hey, finding it hard to watch any channel via my touch as they keep stopping to buffer so often. I'm using Wi-Fi with a Speedtest app result of 1.6mb down. Latest firmware installed and nothing else using my connection.

I've been getting the exact same problem for the past couple of weeks or so. Every channel is becoming impossible to watch because it repeatedly stops/freezes and takes about ten seconds or more to buffer and then continue. Sometimes it often kicks you out of the channel stream altogether.

I'm using the iPhone 3G-S over 3G to watch the streams, but it doesn't appear to make any difference if over WiFi or 3G, bottom line is that it never use to be any where near this bad, it really is that un-watch'able at the moment. Are the network providers commiting foul play here because users are constantly streaming data in the form of continueous video? Are they trying to force us to quit so much data downloading? (If they are then it's foul play and should be reported to the governing telecommunications regulatory body - is that OFTEL?)

Nothing much wrong at this end as the streams are consistent, I tell you what you could do and that is to install this app to tell you of your available speed http://itunes.apple.com/app/speedtest-net-speed-test/id300704847?mt=8 very handy really.

There were some issues with 02 a few weeks ago but I really do not know if they are still happening...

I have already downloaded and used that app. See my OP. It's been like this for weeks. It's only now that I decided to say something. Normal (desktop) version is fine.

Do you have a friend with an iPhone?
If so compare the signal with the two of them, it maybe that your phone is faulty, it does happen.

Yup I do and it has been the same for him.

Just to mention that I am on O2 and yes TV Catchup's channels are still stopping repeatedly to buffer-up.

Not sure if it is down to O2 (although wouldn't be suprised as there network seems up and down for as long as I have had the iPhone), however I'm regretting being with O2 because they don't even allow you to watch BBC iPlayer over 3G, instead BBC iPlayer advises that you can only view iPlayer over 3G on 'Vodafone' or '3', that's how useless O2 is!!

Bottom line is that the iPhone TV Catchup did use to work quite well with only the odd break-up now and then over 3G and nothing's changed as I still have the same 3G-S iPhone, same network, same areas of use, same TV Catchup menu-shortcut-icon. Puzzling and frustrating cause I like to use TV Catchup.

James it really isn't a good idea to put your personal phone number up here and I have removed it.

I keep getting exactly the same on a standard desktop PC.

I've run a Broadband Speed Test, and am getting 6.1mb+, so that's not an issue.

The primary problem is cutout for 80% of the time, making certain programmes unwattchable, but even when the signal is consistant, the constant pixellating is infuriating.
