Anyone got rumours for who the new Celtic FC manager will be?

Tony Mowbray's looking like a very good candidate. He played for Celtic and after West Broms relegation he'd certainly be interested.

kennyc90

best team there is lol

no everybody has there own choice but nothing "offical" from the club and i may be wrong but i dont think anyone has come out nad said they have been approached about getting the job

edit: yeah i think Tony Mowbray should get the job or Jimmy Calderwood id be happy with either of them

Celtic (or Rangers) going down would kill Scottish football. It would be nice if another team could become competitive.

kennyc90
04-06-2009, 08:58 PM
yeah i know what you mean but this season has been fantasic(well the ending of it anyway)

fight for at the top, fight for european places in the middle of the table and fight to stay in the league at the bottom of the table, its been the most exciting year in scottish football in along time

yeah i think the other teams know that rangers and celtic will finish 1st and 2nd so they really just compete for 3rd place, qulify for europe,co-op cup and scottish cup, the really have more of a chance of winning those

At this rate it looks like it will be either Mowbray or McGhee that takes over just as long as it gets all sorted out soon champions league qualifier at the end of July.

I honestly think Celtic need to search for a manager with European experience. No disregards to Mowbary but he is just a run of the mill manager in my eyes, might keep Celtic ticking over in a two team Scottish league but will not improve Celtics chances of doing well in Europe.

Hi Stuart.
How are you doing?
80 mil.for Ronaldo.Real Madrid are allowed to speak to him now,but i think he wants his move to Real. There is alot of money in football.Like him or loathe him,he is one of the best players around.Im just waiting for Glasgow Rangers to put a higher offer in for him.:rotfl:

The offer was accepted by the request of Ronaldo, it's pretty certain that he's going. I'm awaiting Man U to confirm the signing of Tevez and then putting an offer around £50M for Messi.

Have you seen the rumoured wages he will be on!!!!!!!

"The Spanish media are reporting details of a 'leaked' contract for 24-year-old Ronaldo, which involved a transfer fee of £80m and a six-year contract with a salary of £9.5m, including an inbuilt 25% rise every year."

Football is going to implode before long, most clubs are in huge debt and paying this sort of money for a single player will just hike up the transfer fees for run of the mill players as well.

I also await Platini to come out and say something about this like i said in the other thread. But somehow i think he'll be sat with a French wine in his hand and having a smug laugh about the Premiere league losing one of it's star players.

Rumours are that Tevez sees his future elsewhere. Obviously the news of Ronaldo's departure might have an affect on this now.

Hope they have soft grass in Spain or Ronaldo will be scraping his legs a lot with all the diving he gets through.

It is a shocking amount of money, but Real will get it back with merchandise and extra ticket sales.

thanky

Don't the Spanish government just write Real Madrids debts off anyway ? The ground is full anyway so extra ticket sales won't have much of an affect, the sales from shirts would bring in millions though.

Rumours abound that they want Xabi Alonso from us now. Their president Florentino Perez is renowned for spending big especially on Galactico's. Apparrently Rafa has said only for 30 million plus two of their up and coming players Alvaro Negredo and Alberto Bueno. Negredo, 23, scored 19 league goals for UD Almeria last season following a move from the Bernabeu in 2007. Under his current deal Real Madrid own 50% of any potential deal for the player and also have a buy back option, which they would exercise if a deal can be agreed with Liverpool.

The tall frontman recently told Sky Sports: “My future depends on Real Madrid, but I believe that this summer but it is logical that I am interested in playing in the Premier League and especially Liverpool.”

Bueno, 21, is seen by Benitez as a star of the future after he top-scored in the 2006 Under 19 European Championship and scored 37 goals in 37 games for Real Madrid Castilla. Equally adept as a winger or as a second striker, the young man could play a key role in taking Alonso to Real Madrid. ( Taken from Spanish newspaper AS )

Believe it or not I am OK with this. At the end of the season he started to cheese me off with his whinging etc...diving an antics on the pitch. He couldn't trun it around for us against Barcelona and 80 Million quid is ludricous and i dont think this will guarantee Madrid the title next year. If we come across Madrid in CL then we may come across him again. For me Premiership is the most important of all the titles to win and UTD need to build on this season.

We have aresa were we need to improve and this transfer will help us to build further for the future. The remainder of my thoughts on how i feel are summed up in this article. For me its thanks for the service and Christiano don't ever forget who made you this good.............your boss.

He is a backstabber, before the champions league final, '"no i stay"
After, "I don't know if I'll stay, I think i might leave"

Also he hasn't performed his best this year, I believe that we should of taken the 115 million last season tbh

All United fans think he is a class player, but Sir Alex has made some wrong decisions this season,

3) Champions League team and layout for final was shocking, no wonder we lost :S

80 Million does give them a lot to play with over the summer though. Not sure all of it will go into the transfer kitty like. Also seems a lot of the big players are going to Spain, wonder if Platini has offered them free snails and frog legs for life to avoid the EPL. :poop:

Huge rumours that Liverpool have signed Glen Johnson from Portsmouth, 17-18.5 million being rumoured. Pompey still owe us 7 million on the Crouch deal last season so it won't eat into our transfer budget too much. Plus Arbeloa and Dosena will being in another 16 million as they are being sold. Not quite sure he is worth that amount as he isn't that good at defending but offers pace and direction whilst going forward. Just goes to show how crazy the transfer market is at the moment.

Sky might as well call themselves Man U TV though, plus their pundits are nauseous on a screen. Never mind, i get loads of footie without having to watch SKY all the time. Decent all round sport but the football side of things really don't impress me.
