I used to have my broadband connection through virgins fibre optic cable which was 10 mbs. This was throttled every day and would constantly see my speed go down to about 1mbs if that. I moved about 4 months ago and the building I moved into has no fibreoptic cables connected to it even though they began building it in early 2008, so I had to have my broadband through a BT line. I thought about having it all with BT but decided to stick with virgin as they offered me a great deal. I went for the 8mbs connection which I have never got and the maximum i get is just under 7 mbs which isnt to bad. The difference is that this speed stays constant no matter how much I download and the upload speed is better than the fibre optic broadband I used to have with virgin. So its actually been better then the old 10mbs which im quite pleased about. Im just wondering have I somehow come off there radar and is there anyone else who has noticed the same thing when being with virgin media national?
