Default England game to be shown on internet only

England's World Cup qualifier away in Ukraine on Saturday will be shown exclusively live to subscribers on the internet who will pay at least £4.99.

It will be the first time UK viewers cannot watch England live on TV.

This is so bad as watching a national team play should be free and not a pay-as-you-view service.
    I love this quote:
"I think people want a choice - the chance to watch football in a different way. This is pioneering, very exciting and I think people will enjoy it."
They will not enjoy it half as much as when it would be free and what a ridiculous justification in calling it "pioneering", more like day light robbery.

I read it this morning and thought the exact same things. It's pathetic really and just money grabbing where they can. My choice will be not to watch it, i'll either find a free stream or stick the radio on.

With short sighted money grabbing tactics like that they play right into the hands of the streamers. I can imagine that the streaming "community" will see a significant increase in interest from people who haven't tried it before.

Know nothing about these things, just passing it on in the hope TVC might be able to pick it up

You didn't mean anything by it Mike, just trying to help people and that is worthy
It is just that we must be very careful as many people would like to see TVCatchup fail and that is why we must not have any links other than ones that are approved by TVCatchup on our forums, so if anyone is in doubt please contact us and we will give you a yes or no.
    Thanks for being understanding

Now, If You could watch England only on TVCatchup.. what a great idea!

Otherwise, im doubtful of its success.
Come an hour or so before, lots of people trying to buy access to it, followed by lots of people trying to access it with little or no computer knowledge.
I foresee some problems, but hope the best for them.. As we know, the future of TV is on the interwebs.

Your probz right there mate, all these foreign channels even give Premier League 3pm kick offs, i mean how stupid is that our English League being watched for free by them foreigners.

I was in that business for around 2-3 years streaming football, so yes it can be picked up in our country but you need a few bits of equipment which does cost quite abit to get set up and what not. But damn its worth it lol
