    Default BBC strapped for cash???

Looks like the BBC are getting strapped for cash as they are selling their old content* through an international version of the iPlayer.
Poor sods are going to be subjected to ground force and come dancing most likely... epic fail "again"...

I suspect when the recording application comes out people will start uploading their own content to You Tube.

If they're short of cash, perhaps they should save money by getting shot of the likes of Jonathon Ross (who else would employ him?)m half their management structure and start producing their own content again (instead of buying it in from former BBC staff at inflated prices). Too much to hope for, sadly.

But Dan, some of their shows are really popular. Get rid off Jonathan Ross yes! But not top-gear and mock the week, and some of the series they produce (spooks, torchwood) get them millions if viewers. They should be more like ITV and get rid of gardening and cooking programs. Though then they wouldn't get money from the government anymore. if they are not making everyone happy.

The only reason they have those shows is because it is meant to please every person in Britain.

I'm enjoying the Autumnwatch programmes, when you consider some of the wildlife progs the Beeb produces, the costs of them must be massive.

Strapped for cash!!! Clearly knows nothing about the BBC or how it works.

BBC world wide is the arm of the beeb that sells content, ideas for shows or even the whole show. Then all the money they make is pumped back into BBC corp to fund the cool stuff like Autumnwatch.

£103m profit last year after funding iPlayer and giving it away for free, the most popular news website in the world for free, this is not a strapped for cash!

    Thanks

    a9503128, you keep saying free.
BBC Content is paid for by TV Licence payers, its not free what so ever.
They are low on cash (or just need more for Johnathan Ross next wage rise), which is why year on year ask for more of tax payers money. They try and sell assets like the sale of BBC Books..

Just read http://www.bbcworldwide.com/annualre...nualReview.pdf you will see how your TV licence is not £300 per year.

WELL OK THEN £11 per month for all the News, Radio, Website content, TV Guide, Recipes, Children education and entertainment shows, Shows such as Top Gear (or whatever your thing is) is a bargain!

To be quite honest when I had sky I think I watched two~ show per week and that was Top Gear & Mock the Week usually I was watching the Discovery Channels or Sky 1 - BBC Channels are usually full of rubbish and I do have a TV in my room and was considering getting a newer one but when I looked at it I thought why not only do I have TVCatchup but I have not turned that TV on in weeks because I watch most things on Five On-Demand or 4OD or something like that.

If I was paying the TV Licence luckily I don't have bills at the moment "Will do shortly" I would be happy to have BBC With Adverts stuck all over them just like the other channels, yes they bug the living daylights out of me but BBC is just full of rubbish.

Has it ever occurred to you that some may well consider that the ability to watch other incredibly popular shows such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street, Big Brother, XFactor and more than a fair number of the more prominent sporting events for FREE on independent TV constitutes a far, far greater bargain than being forced to pay the BBC almost £12 (not £11) a month for what many consider to be unmentionable rubbish?

The BBC make some good shows, and whilst I just wish they made more of them, many people resent having no choice but to finance them regardless of whether we choose to watch them or not

    Thread going nowhere
