The webpage downloads ok on my I phone and I can see all the channels to select from but if I select anyof them I get a message which starts #EXTM3U.

You need to enable your plugins in your browser and then you should be ok.

Thats exactly the problem... searched the forum for #EXT annd found the solution.
Now why didnt I have the sense to do that before I posted.
Go into Settings>Safari>Enable pluging. Also you need to be running atleast OS 3.0.
