    Default Death of a Playright

I have just heard that Harold Pinter died. He was one of my heroes not only for his plays but also for his forceful political view.

I am sure you will hear a lot on the news about him today.

For me his talent will be difficult to replace.

Seems like he had a lot of awards on his back and was fighting cancer. R.I.P.

Nobody could ever accuse him of disguising his political views, Share them or not, he will be sorely missed.

One of the great writers, and died almost exactly nineteen years to the day after his friend, hero, and mentor Samuel Beckett died. Two of the greatest playwrights and influencers of the 20th century. A profound loss!!!

I was watching someone review the papers the other day and he was saying that now Pinter has died his plays would be easily forgotten.

Personally I hope not but unless schools help promote more than just Shakespeare then he could be right.

Joe Orton seems to have survived beyond his death but of course his plays were a little more fun, if not just as subversive.
