    Default Android App Testing

Will all those who are interested in testing the new Android Application post their interest and device below.

We will receive the first beta App on maybe Monday or Tuesday - please be aware this is by no means a finished product and all comments are welcome in order to develop a polished product.

    Thanks,
    Colin

    Hi

I thought I would pop by and introduce myself. I'm the developer charged with building the Android app for TVCatchup.

It's great to see so much interest and I can't wait to see what you guys think of beta1 coming early this week as Colin says. I'm especially interested to see what it looks like on lower dpi devices such as the HTC Wildfire, with all the information we have to display.

Currently it works well on my dev units Galaxy TAB 10.1, LG2X, Nexus One and Samsung Galaxy S2 but as I'm sure you're all aware the Android community is blessed with such a variety of handsets/tablets. I say "blessed" from a developers point of view it's a nightmare.

    Regards

TVC_Colwal I know there is an iPhone App with the TVC logo on it, i think you said that wasn't official on Twitter?

That's right ours is being held up at the moment but we are going to try and get it tested before release here.

A nightmare? Google says "Android Fragmentation a Non-Issue" Or as Steve Jobs said, "your holding it wrong".

I can also test on Aser Aspire A500 tablet if it works on your Galaxy TAB ..looking forward to giving it a whirl.

Ahh buggeration, I meant to reply to this sooner... soz! Looking forwards to seeing your work in action Hermit! I'm happy to provide any screenshots and the like from my Wildfire. I'll grab all the obvious ones but give me a shout if there is anything in particular you want to see in operation on a lil screen.

That said, and this might be a daft question, but can anyone give me any pointers as to the best way to grab screenshots and vids beyond pointing a camera at my phones screen? There must be a better way? I've never had the need so I've really no idea! Cheers.
