And that (as discussed here quite a lot) is due to the fact that there is no flash support whatsoever on the iphone. Adobe has confirmed that it has looked into developing flash support for the iphone platform, however Apple seem not too interested in having that support available. One major limitation of flash applications is that flash hammers the CPU and the iphone (and ipod touch) units might not be able to cope with such processing. Even if such flash support were to be rolled out across Apple's flagship mobile devices, streaming media such as TV Catchup would be very slow and unbearable to watch, rendering the device unsuitable for such applications, not to mention pretty hot too! Even if a well optimised scaled down version of flash were made available by Adobe for the iphone platform, battery lifetimes (and device temperatures) would suffer greatly.

Probably because the version of Flash on the PS3 is outdated. TVC doesn't just need flash, it needs a particular version of flash due to the encoding technology used to compress the video. TVC was working on my machine with Flash 9 but now upgraded to Flash 10 so you need to try and find out on which version the PS3 incarnation of Flash is based upon.

That doesnt make any sense at all, you're PS3 should be connected to a TV anyways, so why?! Sure it'd be nice to know if you could in the event that an asteriod scraps your aerial off your roof, but really, is it so hard to change the TV setting back to DTV or AV rather than wasting electricity have the TV and PS3 on at the same time when you dont need to.

I think it does make sense if the person is aiming for a digital-home type system and does not want to splash out on the PlayTV device - live TV on the PS3 without shelling out £60-70 sounds good to me!

    PS3 has Flash Player 7.
Adobe as far as I know, are not upgrading PS3 to Flash Player 9.
    BUT

PS3 allows you to install Linux. So install Yellow Dog Linux and then install Gnash. Then you should be able to watch TvCatchup.com on PS3.
(gnash = open source flash player)

(Untested, If i get time this weekend.. Maybe do a video tutorial.)
