The 2010 Wimbledon Championships starts on MONDAY 21 June

Welcome to the TVC Wimbledon Prediction Game
based on wins and the ATP 2010 Tennis Rankings.

How it works:

Singles
Predict 4 matches in Rounds 1,2,3,4 and Quarter Finals
Predict both Semi Finals and the Final

Doubles
(Rankings are not used in Doubles matches)
Predict 4 matches in Rounds 1,2,3 and all matches in the Quarter Finals
Predict both Semi Finals and the Final

So for example if:
ATP Ranking - (1) Rafael Nadal, (ESP)

Plays against:

ATP Rankings - (6) Andy Roddick, (USA)

You predict Roddick will win:

You also predict Roddick will win by 3-2
Actual result is: 6-4 4-6 6-2 4-6 6-4

Okay Roddick has won; your points will be:

................... 5 points for the win
................... plus an extra 5 points for the difference in ranking*
................... plus 4 extra points for a perfect prediction of the games
................... your total will be 14 points

*The difference in ranking will be up to a Max of five points and the rankings will only apply to the singles matches.

The partnership of »happycabbage« and »tartist« will be taking care of the scoring and the daily results and the tables will be displayed at {to be advised}

Any member can join at any time after one completed round and will be given a total points value of 5% below of the lowest member who has participated in each round.

Any retirements the points will stand for the winner of the game e.g. the player/s who goes through to the next round including any difference in ranking.

Finally I must acknowledge TVC_Colwal's efforts who designed and managed this game last year and whose opening posts I have unashamedly copied, plaguerised and presented as though my own

Scores will be uploaded to the games site whenever a round finishes and the scores have been published on the wimbledon web site. So I'm expecting that to happen Tuesday night when some of the first rounds have been completed.
