Default iPhone app via app store?

First of all I would like to say how amazing the iPhone site is. The picture quality is the best I have seen on any iPhone video stream and that includes the YouTube app.

I'd like to thank all the TvCatchup team for their excellent work.

I am just curious about what happens now to the stand alone iPhone app that was submitted to Apple. There used to be a thread on this forum about it, but I cannot find it anywhere now.

Has the app been rejected? Or are we still waiting to hear back from Apple? Or has it simply been shelved for now? I'd really like to know.

Thanks again for iPhone site, and I'm sure plenty more quality channels will be added soon.

    Mo.

    Hi modilwar,

As far as i've heard it is still under review by Apple. I'm sure an admin can confirm this.

I think the app is still being reviewed. The website is just a beta to show you how great the app will be!

Edit: Gareth is correct (He stole my number 2 position )

I don't understand Apple, don't they charge for selling Apps on the App Store, surely they would rather have TVCatchup on the AppStore (where they get paid for it and have some degree of control) rather than as a webapp where they don't get anything for it and neither o2 nor Apple have any control???

It is incredibly annoying how closed Apple is, and that they are the ones that make the best phone.

Please all this chat about apple being this and apple being that doesn't help, it is their process and that is what we should respect.
So please we understand your frustration but can we keep these opinions to ourselves the app isn't far away now, so just be a little bit more patient

Apple is being investigated (google voice) for rejecting apps due to their 'loyalty' to AT&T/o2. o2 are worried about bandwidth and might block it but its more likely apple will just block the app

Explains but doesn't really help. Anybody got it working over 3g? PVR functionality would be good as slingbox doesn't work with my pvr. The picture over wifi is excellent.
