I am on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 64 bit. Chrome works without any jerking. Full screen works perfectly in a dual screen configuration and displays on the correct screen.
I am also using ATI graphics.
If you still have no success also ask on the Ubuntu forums, I'm sure your problem can be resolved. When people move to Linux from years on Windows they're often used to having to go and find things in order to make something and are surprised at just how many things work "out of the box"
