Default "This video is currently unavailable"

Hi, I seem to be having no luck with tv catchup on my iPad or iPhone, every time I choose a channel I get the message "This video is currently unavailable" after pressing 'play' to start the stream.

On the same wireless network the streaming is working fine to my PC.

Could I be doing something wrong or is the service down?

    Thanks!

I am able to view the iPhone streams fine on my iPhone 4 and the iPad streams seems fine on my Mac (haven't got an iPad to test on)

    Could you follow these steps:

    1. Close the TVCatchup tab in your iPhone/iPad Safari Browser.
    2. Close Safari
    3. Go to Settings->Safari
    4. Ensure that JavaScript and Plug-Ins are Enabled. (Turn them OFF and ON again) (Plug-Ins are not on iOS 4.0 +)
    5. Ensure that "Accept Cookies" is set to "From Visited" or "Always"
    6. Click "Clear History"
    7. Click "Clear Cookies"
    8. Click "Clear Cache"
    9. Turn your iPhone/iPad completely OFF for a few moments, then turn it back on again.
    -------
    10. Open Safari Browser
    11. As to Step 1, TVCatchup should be closed. So now type "http://iphone.tvcatchup.com" or "http://ipad.tvcatchup.com"
    12. Click the "Login" button
    13. Enter Username
    14. Click "Next"
    15. Enter Password
    16. Click "Done" on top (Not "Go" on bottom)
    17. Click on the Orange "Login" button.
    18. The page should now refresh and say "Logged In As USERNAME" in Orange at the top
    19. Watch TV

Also could you run a speed test by installing this app
    http://itunes.apple.com/app/speedtes...300704847?mt=8
Post ur results if you still receiving problems.

You could also check if you are the latest iOS:
Plug iPhone/iPad into ur computer and press update in iTunes.

I have tried the procedure you mention and it unfortunately hasn't helped.
My speed test result is a ping of 70ms, download 1.61Mb/s and upload of 0.52Mb/s on Virgin Media... not lightening fast but enough?
    My iOS is 4.2.1

    thanks.

You need around 0.5MB Download to view the mobile streams, have u tried viewing TVC via a 3G connection?

Also is this the first time you are trying to view TVC with ur iPhone?

Hmmm, yes I have used it before on my ipad/phone and having just tested it, it does work via 3g - just uses my data allowance a bit fast!
Could it be related to a squid proxy server running on this network? We run one for some business software here.

I think kcoolv have pin pointed the problem, it seems to be getting blocked on your home network. I would check the squid proxy but moreover check firewall settings.
