    Default Auto Rotate not working

    Don't know if this is a bug or not, but the auto rotate with tvcatchup is not working on my unlocked iphone 3Gs. It always shows in portrait. I can confirm that it is not locked in portrait (click home twice then tap square button with circled arrow in it).

    I have gone through the clean up procedures and switched the phone off and on - no difference.

    My photos, games and other apps auto rotate without problem!

    I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Well that is not an issue with TVC it is more to do with the settings on your phone as TVC cannot influence this. Check your settings.
    Or try resetting (not restarting) your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

    Many thanks for your quick response!

    I tried resetting per your instructions - still only shows in portrait.

    Are there any other setting that I should look at?

    Nope it should be enabled by default...

    What version of iOS are you using?

    Settings -> General -> About -> (Version)

    My Software version number is 4.2.1.

    As I advised earlier the auto rotate works on every other application, BBC news, Mail on Line, Photo, Stocks, Texts, etc!

    Hmm I'm avoiding 4.2.1 like the plague as I'm on 4.1 (untethererd jailbroken) and like to stay like that until others have been jailbroken for at least 6 months :P Can't help ya, as I know that quite a bit has changed in 4.2.1

    I have resolved my problem

    If I enter tvcatchup via iphone.tvcatchup.com on google/safari I get to the signup/login screen. I login and select a channel. I get the start arrow in the portrait mode with a red band (1cm) along the bottom. The channel starts in portrait mode and will not auto rotate.

    If I enter tvcatchup via saved bookmark I log in and select a channel - I now get the start arrow but without the red band along the bottom. I can now auto rotate.

    I don’t know why entering tvcatchup via safari or bookmark should make any difference but it does on my phone.
