My opinion anyway.IE has never impressed me.

Opera -> FireFox -> Google Chrome -> IE
For Browser Based Games though, your answer is Google Chrome. It is optimised for this, if the page crashes you wont lose all the rest of the pages (i.e. The Game).

Another vote for FF.
For browser security alone, Firefox should beat IE. That isn't to say that FF is immune as you can do what you want - as that is by no means true. However, Mozilla is significantly faster at patching any exploits than Microsoft.
Everything else also points in FF's favour but for me, security is key.
IE 8 is definitely an improvement on previous versions, but I will still be recommending FF wherever possible.

You will get many people coming on here saying this is best for this reason and that is best for that reason, which is fine, but I always find it's better to find the information from independent sources and then make your decision through education.
Personally I am coming round to IE8 and I hate this because of my hatred of monopolising MS. <--------- see what I mean, as even I cannot give a straight answer without prejudice

Another Vote for FF
When I was having difficulty with IE, I tried a lot of other browers but found FF the easiest for me. I don't think I will change until FF causes me trouble.
The best thing is try a few of them out and see what works for you.
firefox any day as i have been using IE7 for the last few weeks just to try it and it is not that good.
firefox wins anyday.
