    Default Orange Home Broadband problem

i'm facing a very strange issue trying to connect to using wifi on orange home broadband. i can connect to the video streams over 3g and over any other wifi network other the one at my home which is Orange. I have tried everything - swapped routers, put the handset on the dmz, turned off the firewall, all to no avail. If i try any other wifi networks i have no issues. i have contacted orange support and they know nothing about rtsp protocols and could not tell me if they were being blocked or not? has anyone else experienced this on orange? I'm using a HTC desire with Android 2.2. I can connect to the main site and it works but with buffering problems. the m.tvcatchup site just says cannot connect to video. i have also tried rockplayer and nothing.

It would appear you've already tried all of the reasonable suggestions we would make to resolve this, but it would be interesting to see if another service that uses the same streaming protocols we do works or not. From my perspective that would help determine whether the service is blocking the communication in some unfortunate way or whether your broadband provider is in a more general sense.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will drop in shortly and suggest a third party to experiment with that uses a similar setup to us in order to troubleshoot this problem with you.

Can I just ask, when you say you've tried a different router, was it a different maker or a different router from the same maker?

Ok, can you guys try this please so we can see if it's the protocol or the site that's the issue please?

ok. i've just tried the link and it has worked fine. good at least that has eliminated the protocol. I've spoke to orange and they also claim not to be blocking any sites which i know is untrue as they are blocking other sites like project free tv that i can reach via a proxy.

    what next?

p.s. wtf is that rabbit video all about

Did it work when you swapped routers? Also, did you use your credentials in the router you swapped over to or the settings it already had?

    Default works fine on vpn

I cannot use tvcatchup over orange broadband unless I connect to a vpn. Surely this suggests orange is actively blocking the site?

Also regards previous posters mention that project free TV is blocked, I can get that without issue on orange broadband without vpn.

Orange is pretty much the worst bb service I've ever had so best overall solution is to change supplier

If you are using this VPN then you will not get through full stop The host name is: 238-199-94-81.rackcentre.redstation.net.uk
as we ban that hosting site.
