I suspect Sky might be a more popular target at the present time :-)

A huge well done to you for 1) fighting the big guys and 2) winning.

TVC is a very valuable service for me and i am glad that it is able to continue in the current form as it would have been a huge loss to myself and many others i am sure.

Let's face it, they had no chance given they are streaming their own services without the need for aerials and boxes etc.

I hope you made them pay your legal fees

All, following the publication of some deliberately misleading information by the broadcasters in a transparent attempt to spin their defeat in court on Monday, clarification has been added to the initial post in this thread following a full legal review/

Happy days for us, but I suspect heads are rolling at ITV and their lawyers, Olswang

Not sure what all that means, about the percentage of viewers or channels or something and the EU, but it still sounds great, especially this line "using TVC's unique recording application - which we are now free to launch. (watch this space!)"

Well spotted Jon, we are dusting off our previous work and plan to release it as soon as we can

Home recording ("timeshifting") is permitted under copyright law (S70 of the Copyright, Design and Patents Act), and use of the recorder will be perfectly lawful for those channels we have been authorised to distribute under the terms of this ruling.

In view of this ruling and with the increasing availability of better ADSL connectivity, it may be practicable for us to reconsider the practicality of true HD of those authorised channels.

    We will keep everyone posted
