I am watching MOTD right now on the latest flash with no issues, the advice there is to cover all possibilities due to older machines and alike.

Nope that's all you have at the moment and I do this everyday in support - without actually seeing what state your computer is in, it is like stabbing in the dark.

Now don't get cheeky.
There are so many machines with so many configurations and without looking I don't know what you have set up do I.
Your graphics card maybe low spec, your internet could be faulty, e.t.c.... We are very busy and we set up systems to help people to save time for both you and us, but in the end our responsibility is to send out a steady stream of data of which we are doing, it is not our responsibility to fix computers and we only offer this as a courtesy.

If you are then surely you can get your system sorted to receive the streams as many many others do without your knowledge - unless of course it is a network issue.
Do you know how to run a ping test?
