Open a terminal (should be an option if you right click on the desktop)

Then just type "ping www.tvctachup.com" without the quotes and press enter.

Give it a few mins then press "Ctrl + c" then just select using your mouse and copy and paste as normal.

P.S. why are we in the Media Center bit?

This not hard to work out is it, the ads are recorded media and play at a low bandwidth speed, the live stream takes up a higher bandwidth speed and if you internet is not up to it then you will have issues player the streams - simples..!

This tool is a tool which will show you where you are losing your internet on the way to TVCatchup it is a combined ping/tracert tool and is very good at identifying where the issue is.
http://winmtr.net/ download it and enter the IP 84.234.16.45 hit start and see where your packets are being lost on the way to TVCatchup. This is best to do in the daytime and at peak time to see the difference.

When testing your internet it isn't only about speed as you need to test the consistency of it as well and a ping test is the most important more important for live streaming, as if it is not consistent then you will get a stutter of data thereby causing it to buffer.

Let us know how you get on.
Tell us why you use TVCatchup and how? http://alturl.com/f88tv
