    Default Another Blank screen post

(I added this to an old thread, but maybe this is where I get noticed, so I'm re-posting, hopefullly in the right place.)

    Hi,

I have had a blank screen for ages now. It used to be a bit intermittent, but doesn't stream at all now. I have a laptop and PC, but the set up is similar on both (and the problem!). I get the controls and the, "Loading, please wait..." message.

I have switched off comodo firewall & Avira anti-virus (I think!). Windows firewall only. I CAN view the mobile site on a Palm Pre 2 (LQ feed).

The support stats site seems to say that ads are being blocked. I switched off adblocker in FF for the site and entirely for the support stats test. Any advice you can offer on what is doing the blocking gratefully received.

    MSIE stats:

    IE reports the following:

It 'might' be your antivirus as well that is blocking the URL, take a look http://www.ehow.com/how_7250842_make...antivirus.html It is worth a go as both browsers are being blocked then you must find a common action for this and some antivirus programs are quite intrusive.
Tell us why you use TVCatchup and how? http://alturl.com/f88tv

    Hello,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I'm running the free versions - no WebGuard. I disabled the start up entries and restarted the machine. No comodo, no Avira. Windows firewall only. It doesn't seem to load anything - despite what the player says. I also tried Opera - it has a progress bar. The bar completed, but still the blank screen. Oh, I have previously tried the uninstal/install flash tactic and deleted cookies from tvcatchup to no avail.

iplayer, other broadcaster's players, youtube etc all seem to work for me, so it's not a biggie, but tvcatchup used to be my preference for live streaming.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

It's now working for me on the laptop with Avira & comodo enabled (and support stats still reports that ads are blocked), so not sure why... but not complaining! Maybe something to do with the flash player local storage settings as I fiddled with it, but I don't think tvcatchup requires much. Is there an ideal setting?

Well, I'm happy at the moment. Thanks for your help.
