Tried opening after doing the above and it downloaded the info again and it gave the same usual error asking for a log, I opted to send one just now... (so you can check if it is working or if im just thick and can't see them)

Ok, this officially is getting weirder and weirder. The errors you're seeing are related to there being no guide data because the downloads have failed. What's weirder is that it works sometimes and not others. Have you tried OpenELEC to see if that works? I'm just wondering if it's a build issue you see.

no, i'll giv it a whirl, not looked at it in a while so probobly should.

RC3 is generally acting a bit screwy for me just now, I noticed once or twice it telling me the date was sometime in the 70's!

so seems to be working in openelec, literally took an ages to download the files, but maybe its supposed to?

seems a bit slow or something (just general menu navigation), but I think it's safe to negate the above problems (sorry ) on the basis raspbmc is still very much work in progress...

Is does seem a little strange, although it does go a long way to explaining some of what you were seeing. As for the slow load, this can be improved by reducing the number of days it downloads.

Why do I get 'XMLTV Location Issue' ... please check you Location\Time Zone Settings when they are set to London and UK?

I am running openelec. At the root command prompt, date gives

and /etc/localtime is pointing at
