Pay subscription £24 a year and get rid of adverts ! I will pay subscription because the more peoples paying it, the more tv catch up service will improvement in the future with all the latest technology like Sky did. Why not ?
people dont want to pay for sub, and sky to me are nowt but crap.
I myself hates the ads and ads anywhere...they are too distracting and stressfull to me, but we have them here for a reason, least its not advertising crap like live jasmine or something or an ad that will eventually give you a virus by advertising a "free online scanner"....so thank your sens lucky because some non ligit online TV/movie sites nowt but cons by bucketful.

You have only just joined the service a few days ago and I repeat the adverts have been here a long long time before you joined. You may have some type of adblocker app on your device.

The PlayBook only works on the main site as far as I'm aware.

I would prefer to pay a small sub rather than get ads.
TVC could use both models, allowing people to opt between free with ads, or paying without ads.
I hear you. Unfortunately a lot of people (present company exluded) seem to expect everything for nothing, and then tell us that's not enough, and I suspect that they'd be the first to accuse us of trying to blackmail them into charging a small fee to eliminate advertising altogether.
Our whole purpose is to provide a service to people that many of the broadcasters can't do so for themselves, and at no financial cost to them.
We don't see a penny from the TV Licence money (unlike both the BBC & ITV) , we don't saturate the service with tacky advertising (like most sites) and we don't interrupt programmes with 20 minutes of advertising within each hour like some of those broadcast services. Instead we just ask that people put up with the occasional short ad, the money generated from which helps to cover some of our costs.
And if that is asking too much of people, then perhaps they would like to tell us how we can find well over £1m a year to keep this service running for free to our users, let alone developing our services still further?
