Default High CPU on ION linux

    Hi All,
I'm running openelec 1.95.3, which I believe is basically Eden running on a stripped down linux with the nvidia drivers already included. The tvcatchup streams don't seem to be using the nvidia ION hardware decoding and as a result hit the CPU.
All my other video sources seem to work fine and use the hardware decoding.
Is this normal behaviour, or would these streams normally get decoded by the ION hardware?
If it's a problem with my setup, any ideas where to start looking?
    Thanks,
    Matt

My guess, and it is only that, is that librtmp may not be using the hardware decoding. The best thing to do is google around and see if you can find information about it. You may also find that enabling Dirty Regions may help. You can information on that here

I run on Ubuntu Linux and decoding certainly appears to be running in hardware, my CPU usage remains low.

looks like the dirty regions fix did it! I'm actually quite surprised as I'd decided it would be unrelated and so hadn't even tried.
    Thanks for convincing me
BTW - love what you're doing with the EPG version, and literally can't wait for the PVR functionality you're hinting at. I honestly think it's a massive game changer for everyone using xbmc in the UK - seriously good
    thanks - Matt
