Am I the only one for whom this is crashing constantly? Usually when changing channels. The old video add on seems to work ok though.

Define crashing?? What is it doing, when is it doing it, what were you watching and where's your log file?

I cannot reproduce the fault at will but when I change channels, the sound starts but not the picture the the sound stops and the screen locks. If I am running XBMC windowed I can kill the process using system monitor but if it is full screen I have to power off and back on. I mentioned this a while back and someone suggested it was a problem with the linux version of XBMC.

Ahhh right. It sort of is a problem with XBMC, but it's not limited to Linux as I've seen the issue myself on Windows. What version of XBMC are you running? If you're running Eden Final, then it might be worth giving one of the Nightlys a spin as I believe they've got a new libRTMP in it that MIGHT fix the issue.

I am running eden. How do I install a 'nighly'?

On Windows, easy. On Linux, I believe you have to install the Unstable Repo and then do an Apt-Get, but you'd be better off googling it as its been a long time since I installed XBMC that way so I can't remember all the commands.
