An advert when the stream starts? How is that too many?
When you might need to refresh the page or change a channel..
Have you tried the ITV Player or 4od where you have three adverts before a stream? One little 30sec advert isn't that much to ask for allowing you access to free TV...!!!Originally Posted by ssd

TVC_Colwal has a good point. If you've ever watched the broadcasters services, then our adverts are literally nothing compared to theirs. I haven't tried them recently but that's because last time I had to sit through at least 2 adverts before the programme started, and then another in the middle of the show I was watching. I do believe we only have 1 at the start? In my opinion, it's really not that much to ask.

But on 4OD you get the adverts and then it plays the content, whereas on TVC we already get the channel's adverts (exc. BBC) then additional ones from TVC.
And, most annoyingly of all, it often says 'Your content will begin in 30 seconds" (ie the current fosters ad) then when it finishes it plays another one!!!!! (ie the Lurpak ad!)
This is misleading and probably could be reported.
That's not true, you get an advert from TVC, then streaming starts and you get whatever it is you have chosen to watch.
I've not seen 2 adverts before streaming starts, but I know it has happened in the past, but even so, again 2 adverts is not a lot when you could be watching the same stream for many hours.
What a load of tosh with 40D you will get two or three at the start and some between the shows. Also, on the very rare event you get two adverts together then each advert will be 20secs each totalling 40secs, and that's it until you change channel. The broadcasted adverts are part of the stream so that point is irrelevant as you are still getting the broadcast which is the intention of coming to TVC.
It never ceases to amaze me how people can be so petty over this - anyone would think it is life changing.

Saying your content will start in X seconds only to play a second advert is misleading, plain and simple.
And the point of coming to TVC is to watch TV. TV has adverts. Except on TVC, where it has more adverts.
But like you said the one quick advert at the start doesn't hurt. But if you are trying to get something on quickly, you see you only have 20 seconds to wait then suddenly another one plays it drives you nuts!
And whats with the attitude? This is a discussion forum no? Since when did TVC take to slagging down it's users?
