haha!
was just coming to say that
i can only assume that there were some background processes still running first time around as the first few seconds of playback max's the cpu... maybe something like that tipped it over. all guesswork!

I've trying TVC 1x on raspbmc and the video is just very very laggy.
Using Top the cpu jumps from around 20% to 95%+ the moment I try to play video with it. (Only with tvc though, youtube iplayer etc addons are fine, as is samba streaming)
Originally I tried 2.0 but it was failing too much, (I didn't know the default was 14 days). So I disabled it and enabled th 1x version of the addon, and the thing actually loads, gets the program data, and the moment I try to run video it's like 0.5 fps and 98.5% cpu.
Edit: So I decided to try the TVC 2.0 with EPG addon again... I changed it to 4 days of caching, and it works perfectly. 32% CPU, streaming perfectly. SO only the high cpu issue happens with the 1x addon.
I guess that's not an issue, now I know the 2.0 addon works It'll be my default anyway. But how weird?

That is a little weird. I'd have expected it to be the other way round as the old plugin basically get the link for the stream and then plays it, where as the new stays running in the back ground. At least it's working for you now and personally I think the new version is way better![]()

This is exactley the same problem that brought me to this forum,
The old plugin required the following fix http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread....ight=tvcatchup
I have reduced my EPG to only 2 days and it is SUPERfast

I'd been using the 2.0 release with EPG on OpenELEC and it functioned very well. The plugin took a while to load but performed smoothly and fast after the EPG appeared.
My problem is that, after rebooting I got an error dialogue box that said there was a problem with the EPG data and that restarting the plugin should fix it. Unfortunately, when I click "Okay" to get rid of the dialogue, the Raspbery Pi goes into a "Groundhog Day" type of reboot cycle, where the dialogue box appears again and clicking forces a reboot ad infinitum. There is never enough time to launch the plugin before the box appears and when it does it has focus, so I can't do anything else but click "Okay". This error has happened three times now after 3 installations; works for a while and then the EPG data error appears.
To beat the reboot cycle I had connect to the Pi with WinSCP and delete the TVcatchup plugin.
Would this perhaps be an EPG download error? Could I possibly stop it happening by only ever downloading the EPG manually?

Other than my problem with the EPG version detailed above, when I use the 1.x version the channel list is empty in the plugin settings. Strangely, there is a long list of items with the blue "activated" button next to them but none of the channel list items have a label. When I try to launch the 1.x addon it just "bombs out", I assume because the channel list is unpopulated.
The above is experienced using OpenELEC.
Ok, if you can WinSCP into the box, is there any way you can get a log file for me, I really need to see what's tripping it up.

Ok I'm going to bump this, I am using a pi, 2.0 with EPG working fine, but 1.47 is loading but just does nothing with no error message coming up. In settings there are no channels showing, but blue buttons are on. xbmc.log -> http://pastebin.com/BRL1nSba
edit:
OK, I thought I would fire up my ATV2 and check and 1.47 is working on that, any idea ?
