Default XBMC Media Center - Frontend

    Hey Guys

No more temporary fix, we're now live!!! That means you can now watch all the channels within XBMC.

To get it just go to http://plugins.tvcatchup.com/~xbmc/

    Notes:
    - TVCatchup.com requires registration (free). Sign up and get a username/password
    - Depending on which build you're running either:
Extract to the plugins\video folder in your xbmc dir or
Go to Settings, Addons and Install From Zip
    - Boot up xbmc and enjoy
    - (remember to enter your username / password via the plugin settings!)

    KNOWN BUGS:
    - xbmc seems to hang if you try to watch a channel which is "off-line" at the moment (i.e. five us only broadcasts between certain hours - out of hours xbmc hangs) Fixed in latest T3CH stable build with plugin v1.2.1

    - can be processor intensive on the xbox due to the decryption required on the stream (dj_gerbil)

simmo2001 posted a video of it in action over at the tvcatchup.com forums check out the video here: http://aodguild.net/junk/tvc+xbmc.mpg
There also some screenshots - http://forums.tvcatchup.com/showpost...&postcount=109

Right, now I've been looking into the possibility of a plugin, but my head is about to explode LoL. The biggest problem with a plugin for XBMC is that, other the the actual Xbox version, RTMP stream handling is very processor intensive to do within XBMC. It might be better waiting until the desktop player is released and then try blending the 2. I can't comment on the actual Xbox version because I don't actually have an Xbox to test it on. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear

Yes, very much so! Shame about the RTMP stream handling but keep working on it, you'll get there.

Right, I've managed to write a script to allow the viewing of TVC on XBMC. However, its more of a Bolt-On then a plugin at the moment . What I need is some help. I've written the script in BASH as its what I know, but I need some help from someone who knows Python to convert it into something useful. If anyone can help me please can they PM me. Thanks.

I've created a Windows Media Center plugin for TVC (http://www.tunerfree.co.uk) so if you need any help then give me a shout.

Looks like Steve is your best answer, or maybe ask sanjiv kindly.

Hi Colwal, I've already been chatting to steve. Thanks to him, I've managed to get as far as I have. I've also PM'd Cheetah but I'm waiting for him to get back to me. I must admit I didn't think of sanjiv, so I might PM him. Thanks for the idea.
