problem after upgrade

I have come to the forum looking for help. I got a virus on my hard drive which was swept clean and more memory added. Since I got the computer back watching tvcatchup is fairly difficult. Its buffering a lot, the stream freezes or slows up and the audio is out of sync. I know it must be the player. I looked up help websites that said to download a fix from microsoft which I tried to do but it said there was no quicktime to fix. Anyone got any ideas or any player I could download, I am using XP.

Hi, you might get noticed better if you post here: Web Player Help rather than posting in someone else's rant thread, but that aside TVCatchup does not use Quicktime; it uses Flashplayer. So as a first step I'd suggest that you go to the adobe site and download the latest version of flashplayer. If it still has problems, there is quite a lot of guidance in the thread that I just linked to, and failing that I'm sure that someone more knowledgable than me will gladly steer you through to a solution

First of all I am not 100% convinced it is the player as this action wouldn't be caused by the player, "buffering a lot, the stream freezes or slows up and the audio is out of sync", sounds more like network to me and I think that is where we have got to look first.
