Will showcase channel be reinstated following recent rejigging of channel numbers on sky?

We are not certain as this channel was showing very low viewing figures. Ideally we would want to add every freeview channel, but sometimes unpopular decisions (for some) have to be made.

Do you know how many people were watching it a day?
Five people, which is ridiculous, but saying that nothing is certain yet, but you must understand that in being objective there are much more popular channels out there.

Ok - I can see that those figures are miniscule - shame - but let that be a lesson to others who may also be about to lose minority channels.....

Use 'em or lose 'em.

Would welcome any future decision to reinstate when next under discussion.

I would likely be amongst the five - but not regularly as the shows I follow are usually in the evening by which time I've stopped using internet for day.

It's hugely useful to have tv progs running whilst doing other stuff.

Tvcatchup is a great tool by which to watch tv online.

Yes of course you are right, Colwal - it is ridiculous to air a channel with only five regular viewers when you look at it objectively. You are able to make a lot of people very happy without showcase, so why bother? I'm sorry if my thoughts on this are intuitive rather than objective, but here goes: just supposing that mainstream channels miss out on a substantial amount of information that would be in our interests to know about. On realising this, wouldn't we then look for a different angle on what we are being told. Hopefully you won't mind me borrowing your 'signature' but what if the official line on getting rid of saddam, gaddafi and bin laden is just that (a line) At least with Jedward we can switch over, we don't have to go and invade Ireland to get rid of them. As for basher assad, wasn't it only last summer that 'Syrian School' showed us a quaint and sunny state with an enviable education system. This year, old basher is portrayed as the devil himself so what is the real truth. Thank you for listening, and for providing such a great service in Catchup TV - oh, and thank you to Quark for flagging up the Showcase issue. It's good to know others who are rooting for the underdog, if only there were more like him!

The only thing I would say from a personal point of view not objective is that there are far better sources of finding information than Showcase which is riddled by personal opinion.
If I want to find the truth about something I will research it myself not watch it on TV which is an inherently bad medium for delivering the real facts behind a situation.
